How it works

Three steps, every lesson

01

Watch the episode

Short videos that explain each idea with pictures and animations.

02

Practise the problems

Each topic comes with practice problems, easy to hard, and hints for when you're stuck.

03

Track your progress

Tick problems as you solve them. Your progress stays saved in your browser.

Why pictures

You remember what you've seen move.

A wall of code tells you the answer. A picture shows you why it works. So we show the idea moving on screen first, and write the code after.

  • An everyday picture for each idea
  • Graphs wherever a comparison helps
  • Worked examples you can pause and try

About the creator

Amit Kumar Singh

Senior Backend Engineer · Microservices · Distributed Systems · Event-Driven Architecture

Hi, I'm Amit. I'm a backend engineer with 11+ years of building Java and Spring Boot microservices: Kafka event flows, Saga transactions, API gateways and the kind of systems that have to keep working when things fail.

I started Compiled Canvas because most tech topics are taught as a wall of text and code. I'd rather show you the idea moving on screen first and write the code after. DSA in Java is live now, and Java, AI for developers, Python, SQL, Spring Boot, system design and interview prep are next. Every course gets the same treatment: short videos, then practice right here.
